Yelp Place API Documentation

GET /api/v1/search?engine=yelp_place

The Yelp Place API returns business details, ratings, photos, hours, amenities, popular items, health inspections, and community answers when available. Take a place_id or alias from Yelp Search API and pass it as place_id. Use yelp_domain to select a regional Yelp site. Labels, category names, and address formatting follow that domain.

Set full_menu=true to include the business's default Yelp menu and available_menus. Pass one of those exact names as menu_name to select another menu. Missing fields are omitted. Boolean place attributes appear only when true. Menu availability is reported explicitly as search_information.has_menu when a menu is requested.

Yelp domain to request. Defaults to yelp.com. See the supported domains below. The www prefix is optional for www domains.

Business Alerts

Set to true to include consumer alert types and available descriptions, dates, and alert history. Historical alerts are returned separately. Alert text is usually in English, including on non-English Yelp domains. Defaults to false.

Set to true to include full_menu_results and its available_menus choices. If the business has no Yelp menu, the API returns its place details and search_information.has_menu: false.

Exact name from full_menu_results.available_menus. Requires full_menu=true. Omit to retrieve the default menu and available choices. An unknown name returns HTTP 400 when the business has a Yelp menu.

Description

Set this parameter to true to disable all logging and persistent storage. No request parameters, HTML, or JSON responses are stored or logged. Suitable for high-compliance use cases. Debugging and support may be limited while enabled.

special_hours contains dated exceptions and holiday names; weekly hours include regular_hours and is_special when an exception applies. closed_until gives a scheduled reopening date when Yelp provides one. Set business_alert=true for consumer alerts and business_alerts_history. Historical records can describe expired alerts; their dates are included.

Set full_menu=true to retrieve menu sections, items, descriptions, and prices. If no Yelp menu exists, place details are returned with search_information.has_menu: false.
