The Google Local Services API returns the service providers Google lists in its Local Services ads for a service and a place, such as plumbers in Austin or electricians in London. Each search returns up to 20 businesses, in the order Google shows them, with their rating, review count and star breakdown, years in business, service area, phone number, highlights and opening hours, plus links to each business's Local Services profile, booking and messaging pages. It is distinct from the Google Local API, which returns the local pack of Google Search.

    Parameter defines the service you want to find providers for. Examples include:

    • Trade: plumber, electrician, locksmith
    • Home service: house cleaning, pest control
    • Service + place: plumber austin tx, for a city in the United States when neither location nor uule is set
    A query Google Local Services can't match to one of its services (for example pizza) returns an error saying no results were found. The query can be up to 800 characters long.

    Parameter defines the place to find service providers in, such as Austin,Texas,United States or London,England,United Kingdom. For exact targeting or to see all available options, check out the Locations API. If multiple locations match your input, the most popular one will be selected.

    Give the place with location, with uule, or, for a city in the United States, by naming it in q (for example plumber austin tx). A US postal code named in q places some searches (for example plumber 78701) and returns an error saying no results were found for others (for example plumber 10001), so give a postal code with location (for example 10001,New York,United States). A place outside the United States named in q returns the same error, and so does a search with no place in location, uule or q (an empty location is ignored).

    Google Local Services also lists businesses outside the United States, for example in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Set hl to the language it uses there, such as hl=de for Berlin,Berlin,Germany.

    Parameter sets the exact Google-encoded location for the search, up to 512 characters long. SearchApi builds it for you when you use the location parameter, but you can provide your own if you want precise control. When both are set, location is used.

Localization

    The default parameter en defines the interface language of the search. Check the full list of supported Google hl languages. Business types, highlights, hours and the day names in open_hours come back in this language.

    Google Local Services lists businesses only when hl is the language it uses in the searched place, for example:

    • en for the United States, the United Kingdom and English-speaking Canada
    • de for Germany
    • fr for France
    • it for Italy
    With any other hl, for example en for Berlin,Berlin,Germany, the search returns an error saying no results were found. q can name the service in English or in that language: plumber and Klempner both work with hl=de in Berlin.

    Set this parameter to true to disable all logging and persistent storage. No request parameters, HTML, or JSON responses are stored or logged. Suitable for high-compliance use cases. Debugging and support may be limited while enabled.

Each item in local_ads identifies the business with Google's cid and bid, plus a pid when Google gives the business one. reviews_histogram counts reviews per star rating, open_hours lists the hours for each day of the week, and booking_link and message_link are present when the business takes bookings or messages through Google.
