The Google Finance Markets API returns the Google Finance markets overview. You get the market indexes for each region (US, Europe, Asia, Latin America), the main currency pairs, cryptocurrencies and futures, the day's top gainers, losers and most active stocks for a country, the latest market news and the equity sector lists. A market or mover row's stock and exchange joined by a colon (.DJI:INDEXDJX), or the pair alone for currencies and crypto (EUR-USD), works as the q of the Google Finance API for the full quote.

    The default parameter en defines the interface language of the search. Check the full list of supported Google hl languages.

    Description

    The default parameter us defines the country of the markets overview, which is the one Google Finance shows in that country. It picks the country of the gainers, losers and most_active stocks and, for many countries, quotes the currencies and crypto tabs in the local currency (BTC-INR for in). Some countries get a regional index tab in place of another: india replaces asia for in, and americas replaces us for ca. A country without a market of its own gets the overview Google Finance maps it to, usually the US one. Google Finance is not available in by, cn, cu, ir and ru. Check the full list of supported Google gl countries.
